France and Japan (2020-2024)
Myriad is a study of our relationship with nature in our daily lives that began in 2020. It aims to recreate an oneiric herbarium in images that revive our perception and help us become aware of the importance of balance between man and nature in today’s world.
To create a visual grammar specific to this universe, I used infrared and cyanotype, which have been used in photography to highlight and study nature more closely. I chose infrared to reconstitute thermal radiation and translate the visual sensation of heat given off by the plant world, and cyanotype (a tribute to the herbariums of Anna Atkins, the first woman photographer) to emphasize the desire to preserve a trace of the nature that surrounds us. The embroidery on certain photographic prints reinforces the referential value of the inscriptions carved on the trunks of the trees that line the banks of the Seine.
